Gives peace of mind
Everything seems to work efficiently, though I have not needed to raise an alert yet. One thing I object to is having to pay VAT. It is a safeguarding service, not a purchase of goods.

At the point of purchase there is an area where you can declare a long-term health condition which would make you VAT exempt (it's not us that takes the VAT!). If I am honest, the best thing about my Acticheck is that it gives my wife piece of mind but has never been tested!

The base unit does have a wider range than standard wifi – up to 200m line of sight, depending on terrain and tree coverage etc. It might be worth experimenting with the position of the base unit – standing it on its end, like a book and placing nearer a window may improve its coverage. I like this.
I find the cord band easier, it's slimmer which makes things easy when coping with long sleeves. One fault is it holds water more when bathing.

As you said, water doesn't run off the fabric wristband as it does the silicone version, but the puck holder is still watertight and we find a good squeeze with a towel after a shower really does help to speed up the drying process as it's a nylon fabric.
